Have you ever sat in your car, turned the ignition key, and heard nothing but a click? That dreaded noise normally happens when you are already running late for an important appointment. What is happening?
A very thin layer of corrosion on the battery terminals called lead oxide blocks the flow of power. It forms on the terminals very slowly and most times unnoticed. The battery itself has plenty of power, but it is just no longer flowing to the starter.
In many ways, our walk with God is the same. It is rarely blatant sin that cuts off the power of God. It is just that “lead oxide” slowly leads to corrosion. Often busyness, criticism, acclaim, ambition, or the love of money and success slowly creep into our lives, and the power of the Holy Spirit cannot flow.
What may have caused “lead oxide” to form in your life?
Bring it to the cross and get the power flowing again!
“If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer.” Ps 66:18-19
